The Material
Porcelain, fired until it behaves like stone
Mineral powders — feldspar, silica, clay and natural colouring oxides — pressed under enormous load and fired until the body vitrifies. There is no resin and no binder in it, so the colour runs through the slab rather than sitting on the face, and the surface never needs sealing. It cuts, mitres and polishes with the same tooling a fabricator already owns for stone.
